How to get a screenshot from Garmin GPS units (excludes Garmin Nuvi and Zumo models)

In case you're wondering how to get screenshots from your GPS unit (works on Garmin eTrex range, GPSMAP60 CSX, GPSMAP60CX, GPSMAP 76CSX,GPSMAP 76CX) like these images ....

First you'll need to download a FREE utility from Garmin that works will almost all later model GPS units. It's called xImage

1. Install the file
   
   
2. Connect your GPS unit via USB to your PC, open xImage
   
   
3. Navigate to the page or screen you need to capture
   
   
4. Click next to get to a screen which should display your GPS model and unit ID
   
   
5. Click next to "Get images from GPS"
   
   
6. Click next and choose "Screen Shot"
   
   
7. Click next to save it as a bmp file
   
   
8. That's it!
